Putrajaya's District Cooling Plants (DCPs), operated by Gas District Cooling (GDC), provide efficient, large-scale chilled water for air conditioning to government buildings and other key areas, using co-generation and thermal storage (like massive tanks) to cut energy costs, reduce emissions, and save space, making Putrajaya a sustainable smart city by centrally producing cooling instead of each building having its own inefficient chillers.
