Our Legacy
A Vision That Took Root
Putrajaya was once known as Prang Besar, a landscape of rubber trees and oil palm estates, shaped by the quiet routines of agricultural life. At the time, few could have imagined that this land would one day become an intelligent garden city and the administrative heart of Malaysia.
Transforming Prang Besar into Putrajaya was a monumental task. It demanded foresight, patience and a deep belief in what the land could become. Beyond roads and buildings, it was about creating a city that could carry the weight of national responsibility and serve the country with purpose for generations.
From its earliest vision, Putrajaya was envisioned as a city with soul; one that reflects the Malaysian spirit in its truest sense. Designed to be balanced, inclusive and respectful of nature, it stands as a symbol of the nation’s aspirations for the 21st century, rooted in respect for the land, identity and a shared sense of progress.
Development of Putrajaya was made possible entirely by homegrown talents which has undoubtedly right to wear the ‘Made in Malaysia by Malaysians’ mark.
