MPO & Tokyo Symphony Orchestra Present: Bruckner’s Fourth and Organ Masterpieces

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra (TSO) present an organ-centred concert featuring Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4 and organ repertoire. The programme highlights the Klais Pipe Organ with 2,977 pipes and an ‘angklung’-inspired facade) in an orchestral setting.

German organist Michael Schönheit performs works including Dupré’s Cortège et Litanie, Liszt’s Variations on Bach’s “Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen” (arr. Pierre Cochereau), and Rheinberger’s Organ Concerto No. 1 in F.
Conductor:
Jörg-Peter Weigle makes his debut at DFP leading the combined forces; the concert closes with Bruckner’s Symphony No. 4.
